

Born on April 20, 1921 in Clearfield, PA; a son of the late Stanley A. Mellott, Sr. and Lela L. (Bailey) Mellott.
Mr. Mellott was a 1940 graduate of Clearfield High School where he was wrestling district champion in 1939. On April 11, 1942 in Clearfield, PA he married Dolores (Walters) Mellott.
He worked as a welding foreman for Clearfield Machine Shop for 43 years until his retirement in 1983.
Mr. Mellott was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the South Pacific during World War II.
He was a life member of the Clearfield Fire Co. #2, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Masonic Lodge 314, American Legion Post 6, VFW, and a former member of 40 & 8. He enjoyed golfing, bicycling, and most of all spending time with his family.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Giuffre and husband Donald of Clearfield; son-in-law, Robert Glass, Jr.; six grandchildren, Rick Glass and wife Rhonda, Rhanda R. (Glass) Charles and husband Dennis, Ryan J. Glass and wife Lynne, Michael R. Giuffre and wife Jennifer, Brandon Giuffre and wife Jennifer, and Justin Giuffre and wife Sonya; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores (Walters) Mellott, who passed away on October 25, 2006; daughter, Billis Irene (Mellott) Glass, who passed away on March 15, 2008; two brothers, Jerry Mellott and Grey Mellott; three sisters, Edythe (Mellott) Fink, Catherine (Mellott) Spence, and an infant sister; and granddaughter, Linda Giuffre, who passed away on September 27, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 217 E. Pine Street, Clearfield, PA, 16830, on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11 am with Reverend Robert Way officiating. Interment will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, and an additional hour of viewing at St. John Lutheran Church on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 10am until the hour of services.
