Sandra L. Brown

Sandra L. Brown, 74 of Clearfield passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Penn Highlands – Clearfield. Born on January 7, 1949 in Punxsutawney, PA. She was the daughter Bill and Helen (Bell) Clark who preceded her in death. Sandra was a graduate of Purchase Line Area High School. After graduation, she became a PA State Government Stenographer for Worker Compensation Hearings in Clearfield. She held her position for over 40 years. She wed her husband, Leon G. Brown in 1991 on the eve of Thanksgiving. They were wed by her uncle, Rev. Albert Cooper in The Brethren Church, Mahaffey, PA. Sandra attended the First Baptist Church in Curwensville and was involved, with her husband, in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program. Sandy also enjoyed painting ceramics in her spare time. Sandra is survived by her husband, two sisters, Cathy Cummings of Bells Landing, PA and Janie Bennett, and her husband, Dan of Westover, PA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held in The First Baptist Church, 1227 Susquehanna Ave, Curwensville, PA 16833, on Tuesday, May 30 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. in the church. Rev. Daniel Osterhoust will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield. Memorial contributions, in memory of Sandra, may be made to The First Baptist Church, 1227 Susquehanna Ave, Curwensville, PA 16833.
