So sorry to hear of Valerie’s passing. Valerie was my best friend in the first grade at Hyde Elementry School! The summer between first & second grade my family moved. I went to a new school & never really had a best fried again. I never saw or heard of Valerie again. I’ll never forget my “best fried”!

So sorry to hear of Valerie’s passing and she was one of the kindest people I know. And with her outgoing personality she could bring a smile. She always remembered my Mother’s birthday and that is so appreciated. God Bless.

Sending thoughts & prayers to the Hertlein Family during this difficult time. I have so many great memories of my dear friend Val, since our childhood years. We put so many miles on our shoes from walking around Hyde & surrounding areas. Then when I got my drivers license, it was nothing for us to go out for a ride & just chat & laugh til we split a gut. She had so many gifts & one that stands out the most, is she had the greatest memory of anyone that I have ever met in my life. Any special occasions, she could tell you the exact date. She could remember everyone's birthday. Even though I had moved out of the area several years ago, there has been so many times that I have thought about her over the years. I had found out that she was at Mount Laurel & about a year ago, I thought I would surprise her with a call. I had her playing a guess game when she answered the phone to see if she could guess who it was. She named 2 people, which neither was me. So, I asked her if she would like me to tell her & she replied yes. So, I told her & she replied JEANNIE, my gosh, I can't believe it. We laughed so hard, because probably the whole nursing home heard her. We got to catch up, talk about all of our fond/fun memories over the years. And there is way to many to list. She was truly "Salt of the Earth." I am very sad that her time is now done on earth, but I am also very happy for her that she is now reunited with her mom & dad that she so deeply missed. What a celebration it must be. Until we meet again Val, my life long friend, I will hold all of our memories close to my heart.

On behalf of the Malinich family, we offer our sincere condolence to the Hertlein family. Val was a very special person. We will always remember her walking around Hyde with her Pepsi in hand where ever she was going! She was always nice to everyone and loved to talk. We are blessed to have known her. God Bless you all.

So sorry for your loss! Val was such a sweet person. Spent a lot of time talking with her on our trips to the Post Office. She always remembered my kids and would ask me how they were doing and what they were doing in their life. She had so much to offer and I fill very blessed that I got to know her. God as gotten another beautiful angel!
