Born May 27, 1949, in Clearfield, the son of Ned A. and Betty L. (Stevens) Goss.
He was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School.
Butch had worked for R. D. Goss and then went into business for himself as owner and operator of Goss Engine and Mechanic Shop, mainly building race engines.
He was a United States Navy Veteran during the Vietnam Era.
Butch is survived by two daughters: Jennifer Chesbro and Andrea Yetter and her husband Mike of Harrisburg, two grandchildren: Elizabeth and Michael Yetter, a sister, Carolyne Ardary of Clearfield and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Ardary.
Funeral services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 7:00 PM with Rev. John F. White officiating. Interment will be in Historic Crown Crest Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 PM until the hour of services.
The master engine builder has finished his final lap.
