He was born February 1, 1929 in Clearfield, the son of the late George E. and Roberta O. (Burton) Rhone.

Mr. Rhone retired from the Clearfield Post Office as a Rural Carrier in 1994. He had been employed by Acme Grocery, Napa Auto Parts, JC Penney and the family business, the former Rhone Motor Company of Clearfield.

He was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church of Clearfield.

Mr. Rhone was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was avid bowler, golfer and fisher.

Mr. Rhone is survived by two brothers: Donald O. Rhone of Clearfield and Gerald Rhone and his wife Patty of Erie, PA ; three sisters: Nancy Frisco and her husband Robert of Clearfield, Judith Shinn of Chicago, IL, and Sally Middlestetter and her husband Ronald of Greenville, OH and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Burton J. and George E. Rhone, Jr. and two sisters: Elnora Rhone and Mae Cramberg.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the services.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield. Dr. Joleen A. Willis will be officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
