William H Gilliland

Bill was born on September 12, 1936 in Clearfield, PA. His parents were William S. and Elizabeth (Burns) Gilliland.

After graduating from St. Francis High School in 1954, he attended Lock Haven State Teachers College for one year. He then worked several jobs in the New York area.

In 1957, he joined the United States Army and served his time in Nuremberg, Germany. Upon his discharge from the service in 1959, he attended and graduated from DuBois Business School.

For thirty five years Bill served as the General Manager of the Dipson Movie Theater Inc. in Batavia and Buffalo, NY. He loved the movie and theater business. Bill knew the who, what, and when of every film from the early fifties to the present. In 1977, he retired and moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL.

He leaves behind one sister, Barbara Farabaugh of Ridgway, PA; one brother, Robert “Bob” Gilliland of Florence, AZ; several nieces; and one nephew.

There will be no public viewing or services. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
