It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jill Vanslette—a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully describe, but her love and memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
Jill was a devoted, loving mother to both her two-legged children and her four-legged ones. Dogs were an essential part of her life and brought her immense joy; her compassionate heart extended naturally to every dog she cared for and welcomed into her home. She was always there for the moments that mattered—the laughter, the difficult days, the quiet afternoons with a loyal dog by her side, and the celebrations spent with those she cherished most.
Jill is survived by her loving mother, Anita Positan; her four children, Meghan Johnson (Anthony Johnson), Aja Chambers, Tessondra Vanslette, and Steven Alexander Vanslette (Katlyn Love); her cherished grandchildren, Marshall Bozard, Izabelha Bozard, Mahkinzey Bozard, Austin Chambers, Gauge Chambers, Saphira Coble, Azalyn Coble, and Forrest Vanslette; great-grandchild Gracie May Bozard; and the beloved pets who brought her so much comfort. She is also remembered with deep affection by her extended family and dear friends.
A woman of quiet Christian faith, Jill held a private, personal relationship with God that she carried gently throughout her life. Her journey was defined by simple, beautiful moments that will now become treasured memories—family conversations, shared meals, holidays, and time spent surrounded by the people and animals she loved. Although she is no longer physically with us, the love she gave will never disappear. Her legacy lives on through the stories her family will tell, the photographs they keep, and the lessons of kindness she passed along.
Grief is the price we pay for having loved deeply, and Jill was deeply loved. Her family takes comfort in knowing that death may end a life, but it cannot erase the impact she made.
Due to the sudden nature of her passing, a celebration of life service will be announced in the coming days as details are finalized. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests considering a donation in Jill’s memory to a local animal rescue, such as the Suncoast Animal League in Palm Harbor, to honor her lifelong love for dogs.
May she rest peacefully, free from pain, and may those who loved her find strength and comfort in one another.
Until we meet again. You will never be forgotten, you will always be loved, and you will forever remain in our hearts.
