Ann L. Klemaier, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and longtime member of the Lutheran community, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the age of 96.
Born in Sangamon County, Illinois, on October 1, 1928, Ann was the daughter of Rudolph and Minnie Schroll. She was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chatham, Illinois, and graduated from Springfield High School in 1946.
On July 4, 1948, she married George E. Klemaier, with whom she shared 76 years of marriage filled with love and devotion. Together, they raised two children: daughter Pam Beach of Palm Harbor, Florida, and son Steven Klemaier of Ormond Beach, Florida.
Ann worked for many years as an executive secretary and later as a bookkeeper for a certified public accountant. She was deeply involved in her church community, serving as a member of both the vocal and bell choirs.
The family lived in Wisconsin before relocating to Florida, where they spent 23 years prior to retiring to the mountains of North Carolina. Later, they moved to the Seattle area of Washington before returning to Florida in 2013. Ann was a proud member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dunedin, Florida.
She is survived by her devoted husband George; her children Pam Beach (John) and Steven Klemaier; grandchildren Brian Beach and Scarlett Klemaier; and 11 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Ann cherished her many friends from church, card club, the Red Hat club, and enjoyed camping and traveling abroad. She also had a passion for interior decorating, beautifully enhancing the many homes her husband built or remodeled.
Ann L. Klemaier’s warmth, faith, and dedication to family and community will be remembered and treasured by all who knew her.
A memorial service for Ann will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, FL 33759, followed by a reception from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
