Anne Peek Mathis died in her sleep on March 9, 2015 in Clearwater, FL after a short battle with cancer. She was 77 years old. Preceded in death by her father William Hooper Peek, mother Edith Howell Peek, and sister Jane Peek deAguero. Survived by her husband Garland V. (GV) Mathis, daughter Margaret Williams and niece Sarah deAguero Granados.
Born in Atlanta, GA, her family moved to Chillicothe, OH where she graduated from Chillicothe High School (class of 1955), married GV Mathis (class of 1953) and had one child. She worked at TryMe Cab Company in Chillicothe, Fortune Federal Credit Union in Clearwater, FL and was a loving homemaker and mother and a member of First United Methodist Church in Clearwater, FL.
Anne will be cremated and her life celebrated in a dual service, with her husband, GV Mathis, who passed nine days later, to be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, FL on Thursday, April 9 at 9:45am. Her remains will be buried with her husband at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL; service at 2:30pm.
