Anthony proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, earning the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Following his military service, he built a fulfilling career as a Computer Programmer and Project Manager.
Anthony was a devoted husband and father who found great joy in the people and passions that surrounded him. He grew up in a family that loved sports and fishing, and he carried those traditions throughout his life, passing that love on to his children, nieces, and nephews. He especially enjoyed fishing, golf, and following sports, with a particular fondness for the San Francisco Giants. He also enjoyed traveling, painting, and playing poker.
Anthony will be remembered as someone who was always willing to listen and offer advice. Whether it was helping someone learn how to hit a baseball, prepare for a job interview, or plan for the future, he was someone his family and loved ones could turn to. His wisdom, generosity, and willingness to be there for others left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Though Anthony never forgot his New York roots, he embraced each chapter of his life, from New York to Florida and ultimately his new life in Atlanta. He lived life to the fullest and created countless cherished memories with his family and friends.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Anthony; his mother, Mildred “Millie”; and his brother, John.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his son, Michael; his daughter, Julie; his daughter-in-law, Marcy; three nephews; two nieces; and many extended family members and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.
A visitation, funeral service, and burial will be held at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park & Funeral Home, with details to be announced.
An additional Celebration of Life will be held in New York at a later date, with details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in Anthony’s memory.
