Anthony Joseph Sinopoli

He was born in Bayonne, New Jersey on August 1st, 1937 to the late Antonio & Marian (Perri) Sinopoli.

He proudly served in the United States Army using his mechanical and technical skills. During this time, Anthony happened upon his beautiful bride at a USO dance, and made Lucye “Claudette” his wife. They raised four children together in their Catholic faith in Rutherford New Jersey.

Tony managed to earn his Master’s degree in business while working and raising a family.

By trade, he rose to the management level of IT with Lucent Technologies. And as much as he loved computers, Anthony may have loved serving his community more… In New Jersey, he served with the Elks Club, and was made the Exalted Ruler. After retiring to Florida, he headed up a computer club in his beloved community, On Top of the World; he volunteered with Suncoast Hospice; and, he served as a deacon at his local church, Light of Christ, where folks would often find him welcoming them in his white tuxedo and bowtie as their Sunday morning usher.

Tony was an enthusiastic fan of the New York Giants, was a season ticket holder, attended many games, and even got to experience three Super bowls!

He began each day with a poppy seed bagel and cream cheese routinely for about 30 years! (Maybe his secret to longevity)? Tony loved food, but his love for family is unrivaled. As the ultimate family man, he always greatly enjoyed the opportunity to have a family meal together. Most of our family photos took place at the dining table. I’d say his favorite restaurant here in Florida would be Amici’s Italian Restaurant.

Tony kept his health up, both in body, with daily walks and weight-lifting (he owned 12 pair of the exact same walking shoes and interchanged them so he wouldn’t wear them out); and, in mind, by keeping current with world events and technology, and as an avid reader of history. We greatly mourn the loss of such a wonderful man.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Claudette Sinopoli, and three sisters and two brothers.

Anthony is survived by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and Loving companion Lori Gottshall.

Please join us on July 21, 2026 for a Visitation at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, Florida from 10:30 a.m – 12:30 p.m., with a Funeral Mass at Light of Christ Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m., followed by a reception back at Sylvan Abbey from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the Sinopoli Family invites you to make a donation in Anthony’s name to Suncoast Hospice.
