He was a veteran of WW II and served with the 8th Army Air Force. He was employed by the Civil Service for 20 years and a member of the American Legion.
Anthony was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Winifred in 2006. He is survived by a son, James Anthony Spano (Nancy) of Topeka, KS; 2 daughters, Anita Spano of Largo, FL and Margaret Cheikelard (Ayman) of Clearwater, FL; a sister, Margaret Eastman (William) of San Antonio, TX; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater, FL. Afterwards, the family will receive friends at 4 PM at the Imperial Palm Apartments West Clubhouse, 101 Imperial Palm Drive, Largo, FL, 33771.
Interment will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the American Heart Association.
