Arlene Honey Harlib

Arlene "Honey" Harlib, 79 passed away August 11, 2016 at her home in Palm Harbor, Fl. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 23, 1936 to Sam Abrams and Loucille Estes whom have proceded her in death, as well as her sister, Sandy Meyers, her childhood sweetheart and father of her children, Mel Harlib and her son in law, George Therrien. She is survived by her sister, Addy Abrams. Her son, Scott Harlib (Dawn), her daughters, Laura Therrien and Tracey Hoambrecker. Grandson, Tyler Hoambrecker and other family members, nieces and nephews. Arlene loved to entertain, she enjoyed being on the stage at the Dunes Summer Theater and the yearly Sinai Temple Follies. She was devoted to Sinai Temple as a Sisterhood President, a Secretary to Rabbi Karl Richter, a Drama Teacher, a Saturday and Sunday School Teacher, as well as a Nursery School Teacher and Substitute Teacher in her childrens schools. In her later years she sold Real Estate. While living Florida she became a Travel Agent with the Airlines. She wore a T-shirt that read, "Marry Me - Fly Free"! Being the loving, caring and warm person she was, she also volunteered at the Florida Suncoast Hospice of Palm Harbor. Honey's greatest accomplishment was being a Mother and Grandmother. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, a Room Mom, Team Mom organizing parties and events. Her Hobbies included, decorating, playing golf and tennis. She was loved and adored by all who knew her. Everyone would say she looked like the Movie Star Liz Taylor. She was full of Life, always smiling and cheerful. She will be sorely missed...
