Bennie Pandorf, age 103, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of service, strength, and love. His passing follows that of his cherished wife, Rose Pandorf. He is survived by his four sons—Wayne, Warren, Brian, and Bennie—as well as 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who carry his spirit forward.
Born in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Bennie was a true example of hard work and perseverance. He proudly served as a U.S. Navy Seaman in the South Pacific during World War II. At the time of his passing, he was the oldest living World War II veteran in Tennessee.
After the war, Bennie returned home and married the love of his life, Rose Costa. Together, they built a life in New Jersey and later in Florida, raising four sons with a foundation of family. Bennie spent most of his professional life as a welder and sheet metal craftsman, known for his steady hands and problem-solving skills—traits he passed down to his children, who inherited his work ethic and ability to fix just about anything.
In his later years, Bennie remained active and enjoyed daily walks, participating in community activities, attending church services, and sharing stories with family. He will be remembered for his craftsmanship, remarkable memory, and the words proudly stitched on his favorite cap: “100 Never Looked Better.”
Bennie’s life was a testament to quiet strength, humble service, and deep love for those closest to him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
The family kindly requests that donations be made in Bennie’s memory to The Suncoast Hospice Foundation.
