Tracy, Tommy,

I am sorry for the loss of your mother. I have one of those nice generational pictures of her with my mother, me, Aunt Nootz, and my daughter when she was a baby. It was taken in front of Aunt Nootz's house. I still enjoy looking at it. I look to see if there are any family resemblances in each face. Family  is important even when we don't get to see each other often.  I pray for your comfort Don't forget us.

Betty was my mother's cousin and our family visited her several times over the years.  I remember visiting her in the Georgia mountains when she lived there, and the last time I think I saw her was when visiting her mother, my Aunt Noots, who was in a nursing home in Florida before she died.  But the memory that mostly stands out was of Tracy, when I hit her in the nose with a baseball while playing a game in Aunt Noots' backyard in Athens, Ga.  You probably have forgotten that.  I hope.    I'm so sorry for your loss.  May God give you comfort and peace.

I have many memories of Betty as we grew up together, somewhat,  on Springdale Street in Athens, Ga.  Our mother's were sisters but as we grew and married our lives took different paths.  We were both blessed to  have both sets of our parents to love and care for us.  Our grandfather often took one or the other of us to his home town for a visit.  That was always fun.  We had long walks during the war years.  Betty loved being a nurse and being a volunteer at the hospital.  I am grateful to Tracy for being  her caretaker these past few  years.   Even though we did not see each other often I will know that a part of my childhood is gone.  I pray she rests in peace.
