Betty Lea Rumpel, age 93, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Betty was born on April 23, 1930 in Lebanon, MO to Lawrence Best and Mary Louise Parker Best. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Robert Rumpel, daughter, Vicki Mannion-Barnes, and brother, John Best. She has 2 daughters, Cindy Rumpel of Lincoln, IL and Robin Woodbury of Palmetto, FL; 4 grandchildren, Kelly, Meghan, and Tim Mannion of Chicago, IL and Rebecca Williams of St Petersburg, FL and 2 great grandchildren, Jude and Hazel Williams of St Petersburg, FL.
Betty taught elementary school in IN and IL for 40 years, then retired to Clearwater, FL. She enjoyed craft making and antique malls. She held birthday parties for her friends and neighbors at the Hampton Apartments in Clearwater, where she resided for 14 years.
