I lived across the street from Chuckie and Nancy on 5th Street until I was in high school. We played hide and seek and other games, and often played baseball with others in the neighborhood. One time I was up to bat and Chuckie was pitching and I hit the ball into his mouth and knocked his 2 front teeth out. I have many fond memories of a childhood playmate/friend.

My sister went to school with you, Jeanne. I am very sorry for your loss and send my prayers to you and your family.  Enjoy all the fond memories you have.

I only saw chuck one time. but I will never forget what he did.  my dad was the coach at prep. prep was playing canisius high school.  it was a weekend game at the prep gym, not gannon.  my younger brother and I were allowed to sit on the prep bench to watch the game.  I was in third grade.  the game was very tight . a back and forth affair.  with many lead changes and ties. we were going crazy because this was our first game where we sat that close to the action.  with about 5 seconds left, prep had the ball and was facing the south basket.  a shot was put up and missed, but the rebound came to chuck.  he did not have a jump shot.  it was more like a set shot, which he drained from about 18 feet at the buzzer to win the game. and what I remember as much as the winning shot was his reaction. joy. yes.  but no ego or bravado. a display of great sportsmanship.

I remember Chuck as he would dribble a basketball down the street from his house to the corner of 7th and Rasberry. He was constantly upbeat and seemed to be in constant motion as he danced around with the basketball. My sincere condolences to his  family.

From our Prep days Chuck was a very outgoing and remarkable personality. His "gang" will be growing in the new venue. I'm glad he had a rich family life. Memory eternal!

Chuck was a kind, loving and generous man.  His memory will never fade but will live on in all of you.  May you feel God's healing presence during this sad and difficult time.

Pattie and I are deeply saddened over Chuck's passing. He was a good friend, and a great athlete, and we had lots of fun with him over the years. He's left us with many fond memories, particularly of all the softball games that we played in and parties that we attended together during the glorious GTE days in Erie in the '70s. I will never forget those days, and those teams, where he was our star pitcher, with the famous "Bauder ball" that he's throw when we desperately needed an out! I miss those days, and will miss Charlie. Our deepest sympathy to all of you.

Please accept my deepest condolences at Chucks passing.  I grew up with him in the 7th and Raspberry neighborhood.  It has been many years since I last saw him but he will live on in my memories.

I worked with chuck for manyl years at GTE. We made a road trip to Las Vegas when we went to  California back in the 70's . He was a heck of a nice guy and a great friend. My sympathies go out to all of the family and his co- workers. He was a great guy and a hell of a friend. We spent a lot of time laughing and joking and pranking. He will be missed by all who knew him. He never lost his since of humor and always had that Bauder smile. It's a friendship that never wavered. REST IN PEACE my friend.
