

Charles John Knell Jr., age 78, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away on March 8, 2026. He was born on July 4, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri. Charles will be remembered as a formal and respectful presence—steadfast in his commitments and devoted to those he loved.
An avid Indiana University fan, Charles never missed an IU basketball or football game, a loyalty that reflected his consistent and dedicated spirit.
Charles served in the Navy, a chapter of his life marked by duty and honor.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles J. Knell Sr.; his mother, Daisy Pearl Knell; and his step-father, Emil Uremovich. He is survived by his wife, Janet Knell; his daughter, Nicole Baker and her husband, Greg Baker; his son, Charles Knell III; and his grandchildren, Alexander, Connor, Amelia, and Colton.
Charles loved all things on the water and especially enjoyed the competition of water sports such as water skiing and sailing. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family and grandchildren, creating memories that will be carried forward with gratitude and love.

A Committal Service will be held at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759, on March 14, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm.
A Catered Reception will follow at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL, 33759, on March 14, 2026, from 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm.
