Christopher Rowland

Christopher Henry Rowland, "Chris", "Rolo", age 53 passed away peacefully on June 16,2022 in Tampa, Florida. Chris was born on January 3,1969 in Detroit, Michigan. He lived in Redford until age 7 when his family moved to Farmington Hills. Chris graduated from Farmington Hills High School and was an excellent hockey player, even traveling to Sweden with his travel hockey team. He moved to Florida in his mid 30's for several years before living again in Michigan where he worked for Oakland Hills Country Club which he enjoyed as he loved the game of golf. Chris was the funniest guy you would ever meet. He was smart and had such a quick wit that sometimes it took people a second to catch up. His wit was matched only by his kindness and compassion. He had a comedy show with his friend on the local access TV station in Michigan in his 20's, he was that good. Chris acted in plays and eventually found his passion in stand up comedy and he was great at it. He loved doing comedy. Just before he passed he had been in New Orleans performing and he was planning to go back for more shows. Chris worked for Office Pride commercial cleaning services when he moved back to Florida in 2014 and then started his own business called "Your Clean-out Guys". He was an incredible bar tender and worked at times for Delectable Fine Catering in Palm Harbor, Fl. He was a member of his local BNI chapter and he was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. He built his company up from just himself and a truck to having several employees and trucks in just a few short years. Though he was at a point in life that he could have just managed his employees, he was still out there physically doing the job. Chris was an organ donor and gave the gift of life and we know he would be so happy to have helped others. Chris was preceded in death by his loving parents Roger and Mary Ellen Rowland and leaves behind his loving sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Duane Cole , his beloved nephews Ryan and Jack Cole, his longtime partner and love Dawn Rutigliano and dog Charlie, many cousins, aunts and uncles and so many dear friends. He was so very loved and will be so very missed. There will be a Celebration of Life in Clearwater, Florida at the Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home on July 9th from 2-5pm and also a Celebration of Life dinner in Michigan on June 27,2022 at the Plymouth Manor in Plymouth from 6pm-9pm.

A memorial service for Christopher will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, FL 33759.
