

Claude Daniel Jordan, born January 2, 1931, was known as many things to many people. He was a husband, brother, friend and papa. To family and friends who knew him best, Claude will be remembered as a fun-loving family man.
He was the son of John Daniel and Ruby Lee. Claude grew up in Safety Harbor, Florida. He had two younger brothers Harvey and Donald, both deceased. Claude was an active child who took part in baseball and football. In his spare time, he liked fishing and sports. Claude was a mischievous teenager who didn’t finish high school but worked hard and later got his GED. His favorite class in high school was shop.
Claude married Dola Bolton September 22, 1952 in a civil ceremony at the Justice of the Peace in Texas. Claude and Dola had three sons, Robert, Michael and Mark. This year, Claude and Dola would have been married for 66 loving years. Nobody could ever compare to Dola in Claude’s eyes.
Claude was an Airforce veteran. He saw action in the Vietnam War. Through his hard work, he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Through the years, he was stationed in several locations all over the world including, Texas, Alaska, Michigan, Oregon, Vietnam and Florida. After retiring from the Airforce in 1971, he went to work for the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. His primary occupation was Lieutenant/Steward. He worked in Food services until he retired from the Sheriff’s Office in 1988.
Being the big family man he was, Claude was thrilled when his 4 girls were born and he gained the new title of “Papa”. First came Jennifer in 1980, then Tiffany in 1982, and Sara and Kristen in 1987. Later, the family grew again with the addition of Andrew and James through marriage and when 3 great grandchildren Aric (2008), Rylee (2013) and Chloe (2017) joined the group.
Claude spent his free time camping, playing softball, watching wrestling, football and baseball and telling all sorts of stories. Claude was an avid sports fan. Tops on his list were the Florida Gators, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Rays. He never missed a chance to watch WWE wrestling.
Claude passed away on January 29, 2018 at Largo Medical Center, Largo Florida. He is survived by his wife Dola, his children Robert (Cathie), Michael (Jane), Mark (Marion) and Kim Roane, daughter in law. His 4 grandchildren Jennifer Rizzo (Andrew), Tiffany Jordan, Sara Jordan and Kristen Dean (James) and 3 great grandchildren Aric and Rylee Rizzo and Chloe Jordan.
Claude leaves behind him a legacy of a loving family and many cherished memories.
