Constantine was born in Saint Mary Jamaica West Indies, March 4th, 1931, to Mother Inez Henry and dad Ernest Young. Consy as he was called, because his name was too long, attended Mt. Regale primary and secondary school. After which he attended trade school where he mastered his passion, cabinet making.
After trade school Conny met his sweetheart Shirley, they had a son. Conny and Shirley moved to England seeking better opportunities. They lived in England for nine years, then moved back to Jamaica. After a couple years in Jamaica they migrated to the United States of America. They lived in Pennsylvania for many years and after retiring moved to Florida.
Conny and Shirley celebrated 63 years of marriage. Conny was a member of New Destiny Worship Center, where he served as Usher.
Consy was an intelligent man, had he furthered his education, no telling what he would have become. He's a master of many trades and often became a wealth of knowledge to many.
There’s a story about him when he worked in a factory in England. A new piece of equipment came in for assembly, the engineers and technicians were having a tough time figuring out how to put it together, even with the instructions. As the hours went by the technicians and engineers gave up. Consy took one look at it and said to them, “that part goes there”. Those smart well-educated technicians and engineers probably thought he was just a janitor, and he didn’t know what he was talking about, but they tried it anyway, and guess what? It worked.
College was not for him. He worked hard and achieved a lot. He often said to his son “I never thought I would own 3 houses, several cars or even flew on an airplane”. Conny as he was called when he came to America often said he was happy and satisfied with his achievements and he had no regrets.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Inez, father Ernest, stepdad Cecil and sister Hortense.
Conny will be missed by his wife Shirley, his son Clement and his wife Marva, granddaughters, Desiree and her husband GeMarr, Natasha, Tara, grandson Corey, great grandsons Noah and Austin, Nieces Cynthia, Andrea, Beverly, Joan and their families. Nephews Tony, Rohan, Gary, Mark and their families. Brother-in-laws Arthur and Milton and their families and many, many friends.
