Craig Tenney Muncaster

August 16, 1936 – April 21, 2026
Obituary of Craig Tenney Muncaster
IN THE CARE OF

Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park & Funeral Home

Craig Tenney Muncaster, born August 16, 1936, in Winchester, Massachusetts, lived a life defined by generosity, curiosity, and deep devotion to family. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and countless shared memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Craig was a proud business owner of a car dealership, where his work ethic and integrity earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike. Yet beyond his professional life, it was who he was as a person that truly defined him. He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need—an instinctive giver whose kindness knew no bounds.

A loving husband and devoted father, Craig took immense pride in his family. He had a genuine interest in their lives and always wanted to know what was new, what they were learning, and what brought them joy. That curiosity extended to the world around him as well—he was a lifelong learner, a culinary enthusiast, and a devoted student of history, often enjoying hours immersed in historical programs.

Craig’s adventurous spirit carried him far beyond his roots. He and his beloved Jeanne traveled the world together, often bringing the entire family along for the journey. One unforgettable trip to Mexico became family legend, filled with laughter and hijinks that nearly got the whole group banned from the resort—a story retold often and always with smiles.

He found peace and happiness outdoors, a love he eagerly shared with his children. Many cherished memories were made on spontaneous trips, loading the family into an RV right from the dealership lot and heading to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for fishing and hunting. His sense of adventure went even further, as the family would fly bush planes into the Canadian wilderness for extended fishing expeditions—experiences that bonded the family and created stories for generations.

Craig’s kitchen was another place where his love shined brightly. His cooking was nothing short of legendary. He encouraged everyone to expand their horizons, always trying new recipes and preparing meals large enough to feed not just his family, but the neighborhood kids who somehow always appeared at dinnertime. His holiday eggnog became a tradition of its own—rich, strong, and irresistible, often “sampled” by children who learned quickly just how spirited it could be.

Later in life, Craig’s playful nature remained as vibrant as ever. He delighted in including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in his lighthearted “capers,” sneaking treats and sharing moments of laughter and mischief. These small acts of joy reflected who he was at his core: someone who believed life was meant to be shared, savored, and enjoyed together.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Barbra Muncaster, and his brothers, David and Neil Muncaster. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Muncaster; his children, Diane Barth (Ray), Scott Muncaster (Late Tina), Brad Muncaster (Melissa), Craig Muncaster Jr., and Tim Muncaster (Genny); and his sister, Judy Muncaster. He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including his grandchildren, Kelly Barth; Raymond Barth III; Tonya Cox (Joey); Terri Startz, Tyler Muncaster; Dana Muncaster; Jason Muncaster; Rhiannon Torres (Ezequiel); Craig Muncaster III (Sokanha); Daniel Muncaster; Carol-Anne Muncaster (Hans Wang); John Muncaster; James Muncaster; and Julie Devine; as well as his great-grandchildren, Valerie Barth, Josiah and Téa Startz, Alex and Logan Hicks. He was also preceded in death by his grandchild, Jeremy Startz.

Craig Tenney Muncaster will be remembered as a man of boundless generosity, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. His stories, traditions, and laughter will echo through the lives he touched, a lasting reminder of a life well lived and deeply cherished.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly invites you to consider making a donation to the American Heart Association in Craig’s name, honoring a life that gave so much to others.
