

Born on April 12, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, David was the beloved son of the late Dolores and Albert Henwood. He graduated from Redford High School in Detroit, Michigan, with the Class of 1959. Following graduation, he attended the University of Michigan, where he earned a BBA degree and an MBA degree. After the completion of his education, he proudly served his country as a lieutenant in the United States Army.
David was a man of many interests and passions. He enjoyed coin and stamp collecting, spending time on the golf course, and following sports of all kinds. A devoted fan, he especially loved University of Michigan athletics, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Tampa Bay Rays. David had a special affection for his beloved cats, which brought him great companionship and joy.
In 1984, David relocated to Florida and began a distinguished career with Raymond James Financial. Through years of dedication and hard work, he rose to become Chief Investment Officer before retiring after a successful and respected career in the financial industry.
David will be remembered for his intelligence, loyalty, generosity, sense of humor, and deep love for his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, perseverance, and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Henwood; his children, David (Darlene) Henwood and Tom (Becky) Henwood; his cherished grandchildren, Kate Henwood, Emma Henwood, Harrison Henwood, and Parker Henwood; his first wife, Margaret (Tom) Krivchenia; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, June 27th, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at St. Mark Village, 2655 Nebraska Avenue, Palm Harbor, Florida 34684.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David's memory to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, 3607 N. Armenia Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33607.
Though he is no longer with us, David's love, wisdom, and enduring spirit will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
