Donald R. Gould Sr.

Gould, Donald R. of Tarpon Springs, Florida passed away January 21, 2016 surrounded by family. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty (née Ness), daughters Nancy (Mike) McDonald, Diane (Ralph) Ensign and son Donald (Lisa) Gould Jr. Loving Papa to Christy (Steve) Tilton, Becky (Ben) Melnick, Kelly (Shawn) Gould-Auten, Michael McDonald III, Katie (Cory) Helmerson, Christopher (Laura) Ensign, Amy (Neil) Knight and Ryan Gould. Great grandfather to 12. Donald was born in Jamestown, New York but moved to DesPlaines, IL as a young child. After marrying Betty in 1948, they resided in Chicago, IL where he opened a print shop, Gould Press. He moved his family to Prospect Heights, IL where they resided for over 40 years. He was a member of the Prospect Heights Fire Protection District for 29 years retiring as Fire Chief 1988. After retiring, they moved to Tarpon Springs, FL, where they have lived for 23 years. Don will best be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and gift of gab. He is preceded in death by his parents Doris and Russell Gould, sister Francis, bother in-law Robert Ness, Sister-in-law Lois Ness and in-laws Paul & Ann Ness. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
