

Doris Davis Duff, 95, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025. She was born on January 14, 1930, in Pike County, Kentucky, to the late Howard Eugene Davis and Bernice Kelly Davis. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who lived a life full of love and faith.She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Susan Kelly Duff; her grandson, David Zahner; her brother, Jim Davis; and many extended family members and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Ray Duff; her daughter, Deborah Zahner; and her infant son, Michael Ray Duff.
Doris was a long-time resident of Clearwater, Florida. She and the love of her life, Bill Duff, met in college in Roanoke, VA. In December 1949 they embarked on a new life by following her parents to Clearwater to establish the family business, Davis Hardware. Two months later, they were married at Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church. Doris and Bill truly embraced all Clearwater had to offer including fishing, shelling, sailing trips, and being members of the Clearwater Community Chorus. Doris enjoyed entertaining in her home including lively bridge parties with plenty of laughing and talking with lifetime friends. Doris and Bill hosted an annual Christmas party for friends and family which was enjoyed by many for over 60 years. Doris and Bill enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends, and they took many trips throughout the United States and Europe. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Clearwater for over 50 years, Doris was deeply faithful and devoted to God. Doris was a woman who lived with grace and purpose, and her legacy of love, faith will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759. Interment will immediately follow.
Doris’s love and light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She will be missed but never forgotten.
