
Lauzon, Dorothy Marie ( Peterson ) 94 of Gull Aire Village, Oldsmar, Florida found peace on November 12, 2014, at her home, after suffering a stroke on July 8, 2014 in West Bend, Wisconsin. She was born on August 31, 1920, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Glenn Peterson and Luella (Smith) Peterson. In 1938 she graduated from Waupun High School in Waupun, Wisconsin, after which attended college in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and became a teacher. She taught school for many years, in one and two room schools, throughout Wisconsin. During her career she also became principal of Boltonville Grade School. During WWII, she was married to Donald Lauzon on August 14, 1943 in Waupun, Wisconsin. He was in the military stationed in California. For one and a half years she worked for the government, in California, until her husband was sent to the Pacific. She then returned to teaching in Wisconsin. After the war they went into the food business. Her husband was the proprietor of a grill and she ran the concession stand, for the state of Wisconsin at Mauthe Lake in the Kettle Moraine area. After several years in this business, they moved to Clearwater, Florida. They purchased a trailer park on Highway 19, which they operated for 17 years. Their daughter Merrie was born on January 15, 1959. They retired to a lovely home on Lake Chautauqua not far from Twin D Trailer Park. Dorothy's passion after retirement was genealogy. Her travels took her all around the United States and abroad with family as she traced her lineage back to Charlemagne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lauzon in 2002 and her cat "Foxie" and her parents Glenn and Luella Peterson. She is survived by her daughter Merrie Olsen and special friend (Rob Stull), her grandson Jason Olsen. One sister Joyce (Paul) Hauch of West Bend, Wisconsin, one brother Glenn (Carolyn) Peterson of West Bend, Wisconsin. Three special nieces Ann(Robert) Linn, Denver Colorado, Laurie Spors special friend (Nicholas Stack) West Bend, Wisconsin, Joni (Keith) Lundin, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. One special nephew Gary(Julie) Peterson, Roberts, Wisconsin other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Suncoast Hospice for all the loving care they gave to Dorothy. With a special thanks to Rob Stull who was Dorothy' s personal care giver. These last four months of her life he was with her until the end, holding her hand as she passed into the arms of Jesus. We will all miss her.
