Wunderlin, Edna Patricia, 95 of Oldsmar, Florida died Oct 7, 2020 in Palm Harbor. Edna was born in Brooklyn, NY. The youngest with four siblings, Helen, Harry, Dorothy and Florence. She grew up in Brooklyn and Queens, NY. She met her husband, John at the Idle Rest Boarding House in Jeffersonville, NY – an establishment owned by his family. They married Oct. 16, 1948. Their daughter Patricia was born in April 1954. They lived in Sullivan County, NY for several years before moving to Ridgewood, NY. Edna was a stay-at-home mom for several years before rejoining the workforce. She had several secretarial/receptionist jobs throughout her career. She and John moved to Copiage, NY in 1977 where they lived until moving to Oldsmar, FL in August 1995. While in Florida, Edna worked for Florida School System. Before retiring, she worked as a cashier in the teachers’ lounge at Palm Harbor University High School where she was loved and respected by the teachers she came in contact with on a daily basis. After the death of her husband, John, she became a Hospice Volunteer at the North Pinellas Care Center on Tampa Rd. She sat with patients when there was no family available. She did the menus and worked at the front desk. She was so proud of the work she did there and mentioned many times that it was the most rewarding thing she had ever done in her life. She volunteered at hospice until she was 93 years of age. Edna passed away quietly on October 7, 2020 while under the care of Hospice and it was so fitting that she took her last breath in a place she loved so much. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Bob Scheriff. She leaves behind several generations of nieces and nephews as well as a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Joan Wunderlin. She is also survived by a special young lady, Shannon Mitchell, who has lovingly called her “Grandma” all her life. Edna was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She was kind and generous and was always willing to listen to your problems and offer advice, if asked for. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and enjoyed spending time with them. She had a wonderful sense of humor and laughed quickly and wholeheartedly…sometimes at herself. She was a treasure and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice.
