Born on April 13, 1955, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to the late Zigmund and Theresa Grabowski, Ed lived a life defined by love, loyalty, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.
Affectionately known as “Mr. Fix-It,” Ed had an incredible gift for solving problems of every kind—appliances, projects, or anything that needed a steady hand and a sharp mind. If it was broken, Ed could fix it, and he did so with patience and pride.
A devoted New York Yankees and Giants fan, Ed embraced every moment of life. He loved traveling, exploring new places, and creating memories wherever he went. He also cherished the simple pleasures that made life feel full: long walks on the beach, watching John Wayne movies, enjoying great food, celebrating Christmas, and spending time with his beloved dogs. In his younger years, he raced his Camaro in the ’70s—fierce, fun, and full of spirit.
For 25 years, Ed served with dedication and compassion in security/customer service for United Airlines, where his kindness and work ethic touched countless lives.
Above all else, the greatest joy and purpose of Ed’s life was his relationship with his wife, Joanne. Married for 47½ beautiful years, their love was a true inspiration—a bond grounded in faith, devotion, and unwavering commitment. Together they built a life rich with laughter, adventure, support, and enduring affection.
Ed is survived by his cherished wife, Joanne Grabowski; his sister, Donna (Vinny) Pappa; his brother, Donald (Eileen) Grabowski; his brother-in-law, Thomas (Nancy) Ripoli; his loyal dog, Andy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, William and Michael Grabowski.
