Edward O’Connell went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2016. He was 89 years old and would have turned 90 in February. Edward ( Eddie) was born in New York and grew up in Massachusetts and New Jersey. He was a musician (drummer) and played with many of the big bands in the 40’s & 50’s. He joined the Elizabeth Fire Dept. in 1961. He later became a Elizabeth Fire Inspector until his retirement in 1986. His hobbies were fishing (anytime, anywhere) and tennis. He was active in music and had his own band until well into his 80’s. Edward was a veteran of the United States Army. He leaves behind his wife of 31 years Nancy, 2 step daughters Dawn Rutigliano and Tammy Barone &husband Rick. 2 step grandsons Kyle and Christopher Barone. Also, his sister Helen Randazzo, brother Bernie O’ Connell and many nieces and nephews. Attended St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Palm Harbor. Final resting place will be in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park , Clearwater , Florida. Arrangements pending.
