Eleanor M Echols

ECHOLS, Eleanor M., 88, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Florida with her late husband, George B. Echols, Jr. in 1976 from Villa Park, Illinois. Eleanor was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Clearwater, FL and the Church Guild. She was also a member of the Retired Officer’s Wives and Widows Club of Clearwater, the Navy League, and Alumni of Welcome Newcomers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George B., Jr. and a sister, Arlene Hahn.

Survivors include a son, William H. and his wife, Linda of St. Charles, IL; daughters, Mary Lou Szafraniec and her husband, Ted of Clearwater, and Theresa Haack and her husband, Mike of Villa Park, IL; a brother, Theodore Dillenburg; a sister, Evelyn Turczynski; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1955 So. Belcher Rd. Clearwater. Interment will be private at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation or American Cancer Society.
