

Dawsey, Eleck Wilson Jr. 83, passed away May 14, 2014 in Clearwater, Florida. Eleck retired from the United States Air Force in 1979 as a Senior Master Sergeant after 28 years of meritorious service. His overseas tour of duties included stations in Japan, Germany, France, and Vietnam. This humble man received honors throughout his career. After retiring from the military, he worked at the U.S. Postal Service for 12 years before retiring in 1992. Eleck is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rosemarie Wanka Dawsey; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Gina Dawsey; granddaughter Heather, and great grandson, Rayden all of Florida; his four sisters Betty Britt, Mary Hammonds, and Carolyn Simmons of Chadbourn, NC and Margie Summersett of Whiteville, NC; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his five brothers, Hulon Dawsey of Garden City Nevada, Talbert Dawsey of Nicholas, SC, Albert Dawsey of Whiteville, NC, Melvin Dawsey of Marion, SC, and Hal Dawsey Menomic, WI; and one sister, Doris Dawsey Capps of Charleston, SC. Eleck was the son of the late Eleck Wilson Dawsey, Sr. and Guila Harrelson Dawsey of Chadbourn, NC and grandson of the late “Judge” Benjamin P. Harrelson and Nancy Caroline Harrelson of Loris, SC; and Martha Holt of Aynor, S.C. Military honors and burial will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
