Elsie Dorothy Punt

Punt, Elsie Dorothy 97! of Seminole, FL passed away July 18. 2019. A native New Yorker, she was born February 23, 1922 to Joseph and Elsie (Christein) Maytrott, the eldest of two daughters. Throughout her life, Elsie was an avid golfer and five-time Ladies’ Club Champion of Garden City Country Club, Long Island, NY. Added to this, she had five holes-in-one! She was a life-long member of the Order of Eastern Star, played the organ, painted in oils, volunteered with Suncoast Hospice, and was a great cook of German food. She loved dining out and anything chocolate. She cherished her family and always put their needs before her own. She left this world satisfied with a long life full of accomplishment and spiritually content in her Christian faith. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Gladys Maytrott Powell; stepson, Robert Punt; and her loving husband of 55 years, William Robert “Bill” Punt. Although she had no children, she had a large and loving extended family. She is survived by her niece, Maureen Powell Wilcox; nephew, Thomas Dennis Powell; (Wilcox) grand-nephews, James Wilhelm and Brian Riley; (Wilcox) great-grand nieces/nephews, Zoe Blue, Ayla Riley, Fahren Elliott, Lucien Powell, Ezra Riley, and Petra Jane. From her husband Bill’s side of the family she is survived by her stepdaughter daughter, Bonita Punt Grand; niece, Patti Punt Soltys; (Punt) grandchildren, Cassandra Barron, Paula Daskalakis, Edward Punt and Natalie Punt; (9) great-grandchildren; and (7) great-great grandchildren. A visitation and funeral service will be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater, FL on July 26 and 27 respectively. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
