POWERS, Eula D. It is with deep sadness we announce on January 28, 2023, Eula D. Powers, our matriarch, died peacefully in her home in Safety Harbor, FL, where she's been "the spirit of the community" since 1986. Born Eula D. Nofziger on February 5, 1924 in Temperance, MI, she was one of seven children raised on the family farm. Eula was always a beauty, inside and out. She was the mom every kid wished they had; kind, cool, fashionable, and always ready for an adventure. She loved spending time with her friends and family, which include four children, seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She spent her life collecting wonderful friends, and was always the last to leave a party, even at 98. Red wine was her favorite, and she had a funny habit of picking up sunglasses that didn't belong to her. Over the century she had many amazing accomplishments, but working the switchboard at First National Bank of Clearwater, and 30 years as a volunteer at Hospice Thrift Store, were her proudest. She loved to travel, and had a deep affinity for Native American culture. Her impressive wardrobe was built on thrift store fashion and, surprisingly, she never had one gray hair. There was a special place in her heart (quite literally) for her cardiologist, Dr. Bernardo Stein, for taking such good care of her, and also for being so handsome. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Norman Powers (1985). She leaves behind her children, Ronald Ray Powers (Glenda Davenport), J. Scott Powers, Shaun O. Powers (Michele), and Lisa P. Tricomi (Michael). She will be held forever in our hearts. Service will be held at The Refuge, 606 Alden Ave., Clearwater, on March 25 at 3 pm.
