October 14, 1939 – January 15, 2023

IN THE CARE OF
Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park & Funeral Home
Fortunato was born October 14, 1939 to parents
Manuel Chinea Sánchez and Dolores Romero Silva de Chinea in a beautiful Cámpo in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
One of seven children, four brothers and three sisters.
In the mid 1950's he and his brothers set out to New York City to seek out The American Dream all without speaking the English language. In the years and decades that followed, it wasn't an easy road. Through perseverance and love, he created a life beyond his dreams.
Owner of many restaurants and businesses he invested into the communities he served. Always maintaining his Faith in God, through all things. His life was lead with integrity, honor and a servant's heart.
He was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 44 years Rosalind back in 2019.
His legacy lives on through his children Benito Chinea and Elena Chinea Ivani, his step-children Linda Jones, Deborah Jones and Richard Jones. God has blessed him with a dozen grandchildren Thomas Giles, Jordana Arce, Robert Giles, Pamela Giles, Diane Giles, Gabriella Chinea, Jerry Jones, Vincenzo Ivani, James Jones and Domenic Ivani and three great-grandchildren Jordan Carrasco, Mikaela Giles and Lucy Giles. Family meant everything to Fortunato. His large family of many Nieces and Nephews feel the loss of him.
While we all miss his physical presence, we keep his memory alive with #HaveALuckyDay .
