After serving in the US Army Air Force where he trained as a bombardier, he married Edith Lexis. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, his daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Andy Jagodzinski and Georgette and John Heerwagen and his granddaughters Christine and Katy Heerwagen who brought tremendous joy and laughter to his life. He is also survived by brothers Bill (Harriet) and Harry (Tasia), brother-in-law George Costa and several nephews.
George was one of the founders of “House of Weenies” hot dogs that became “the brand” in New York’s pushcarts and sports stadiums where, as plant manager, he was respected and cherished by his employees.
He was a loving, humble and generous man, always had a good joke to tell and never said a bad word about anyone. He will be missed by those that knew him.
