

Glenn "Bud" Bradford Barlow, 93, of Clearwater, Florida, went home to heaven on Christmas Eve Dec. 24, 2015....and oh what a Christmas for him! Glenn was born on December 23, 1922, in Detroit, Michigan to Glenn and Martha (Damereau) Barlow. After graduating from high school, he attended Detroit Institute of Technology for three years majoring in art. He wrote and illustrated comic strips for the school paper. His free-hand lettering and calligraphy were computer perfect. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during WWII. Among his many honors were the distinguished flying cross. He married the former Donna Hoy on July 12, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan. He was employed by the RC Mahon Company prior to moving to Clearwater, Florida, in 1971. He then was employed by Building Specialties in St. Petersburg as a manufacturers representative until 1978. He worked for the Pinellas county school system for ten years after retirement. He enjoyed gardening, painting, and woodworking. He especially enjoyed making wood 3-D puzzles. Glenn was the president of Barbell Wood Products specializing in hardwood easels, which he handmade. He also enjoyed writing and studying Scripture. He loved to do word studies, and one of his favorite books after the Bible was Strong's Concordance. One of his favorite Bible verses was Titus 2:13, "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the Great God and our Savior Jesus Christ." Glenn is survived by his son Mark Barlow (Marsha) of Clearwater, Florida, and his two daughters, Gwen Campbell (Robert) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Beth Wagner (Jack) of Panama City Beach, Florida. He had five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
