Helen Mae Evans

Helen was born on January 17, 1928, in Flint, Michigan to Frank and Gladys Long.

A member of the Greatest Generation, she met and married Harold Evans immediately after the end of World War II, and to whom she remained married for over 70 years, until his death in 2017.

A wonderful mother and homemaker to her 5 children in Chillicothe Ohio, she also found time to garden, can, and make clothes for the family. After moving to Clearwater, Florida in 1983, she was employed at Sears for 10 years. Eventually, she and her husband retired and relocated to Dunnellon, FL in 2006

She is survived by her 5 children, Linda Mae Rinehart, Dunnellon; Brenda Joyce Reddy, Dunnellon; H. Michael Evans, Dunnellon; Debra Ann Williams, Circleville, OH; and Mark Allen Evans, Summerville, SC; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Services were Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Hospice of Marion County (PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478).
