Eppie was one of a kind. We met 40 years ago when we moved to Tampa...and we became great friends, business partners, and of course golf and gin partners. We had great fun in all those areas. As a friend, he was loyal...and you see his long list of lifetime friends. He was always there when you needed him. And who can forget the flying decks of cards, bowls of pretzels, and the occasional putter going airborne. I loved him like a brother, and he brought a special perspective on life with his smile. We'll miss you Eppie. You brightened up all of our lives.

Jim was my friend and mentor. Our friendship began 45 years ago in Tampa at McDonald and Little. I learned a lot from Jim; most importantly don't take yourself too serious and have fun along the way. And we had fun!
Jim was a good, gentle, caring man who had an infectious laugh and smile. Everyone liked Jim because Jim liked everyone. Friends and family were important Jim. He loved Emily and his daughters and would do anything for them. On July 9, the world lost a good person that I will always love and remember.

Jimmy was a truly caring gentle soul who we were honored to call a dear friend for more than forty years. Always there to offer his counsel; trusted and counted on to help if ever that was needed. So many fun times to remember and cherish. Your friendship is already missed. R.I.P.

I will really miss Eppy, a good friend for over 40 years. He asked how our children were doing, almost every time I saw him. I consider myself pretty good when it comes to sports trivia, but no one could touch Eppy.
I don't remember him throwing any golf clubs, but back in his tennis days, racquets would fly regularly. And, of course, he was famous for the occasional deck of cards that would fly across the men's grill room.
I always looked forward to Casey's call to me asking to join him and Eppy for lunch at La Bamba's in Tampa. Eppy's standard order was picadillo. We will still go to La Bamba, but it won't be the same without Jim.
