Jim was born on February 5, 1954, in Clinton, Iowa, to the late Barbara Jean (née Frazier) and Charles Richard Finch. He lived a life defined by quiet strength, deep loyalty, and a heart full of love for family and friends.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, stationed in Germany, where he carried out his duties with honor and integrity. After his military service, Jim built a successful career in Quality Control Engineering in the plastics industry, where he was admired for his work ethic, precision, and character.
Outside of work, Jim found joy in life’s simple but meaningful pleasures. He was an avid saltwater fisherman, a passionate golfer, and a skilled bowler. Whether casting a line into the Gulf, perfecting his swing, or spending time with loved ones, Jim lived with a quiet appreciation for life’s gifts.
He is survived by his loving siblings, Shelly (Roger) Worden and Troy (Jordana) Finch; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever remember his warmth, sense of humor, and generous spirit.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings: Judith Westman, Lynda Anderson, John Finch, Cindy Finch, and Connie Oestreich. Though their loss left a lasting ache, Jim carried each of them with him in his heart.
A graveside service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice—a meaningful tribute to his giving nature.
