

Jim Goins died November 14, 2024, in Clearwater, Florida at 85 years old. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Charlotte Anderson Goins and twin daughters, Marsha Goins, and Marla Goins Puccinelli (Bob)and also survived by four grandchildren, Megan Goins Capenter (Brent), Zack Goins (Emily), Amanda Puccinelli and Nicole Puccinelli Shepard (Richard) and five great grandchildren, Brady and Charlotte Carpenter, Maverick and Emmett Goins and Graice Shepard. He is preceded in death by his son, Bradford Goins.
Jim graduated from Monroe High School in 1957 with his high school sweetheart, Charlotte. Jim then joined the US Air Force where he proudly served in the Communications Intelligence field. He served one year in South Korea during his four years of service. After leaving the Air Force, he worked for Centri-Spray as a designer of automative equipment. In 1970 he served as operations manager for Centri-Spray’s Windsor Ontario branch until 1971.
In 1971 he and his family moved to Clearwater Florida where he started his own business. He started his business owning and operating four coin laundromats in the upper Pinellas area including one on Main Street, Dunedin. In 1972 he founded Designer’s Plastics, Inc., a manufacturing business of store displays and fixtures for major department stores. Designer’s Plastics Inc. sold in 1984 and is still in existence today.

He enjoyed photography his whole life and started Jim Goins Photography, Inc. in retirement. Jim Goins Photography specializes in product photography along with head shots for business cards and web sites. He was a big part of his camera club too, Suncoast Camera Club, servicing as President. He had many of his photos featured in Tampa Bay Magazine for 13 years. Jim was known as the unofficial photographer of the Dunedin Blue Jays and due to all his baseball involvement throughout the years, the Dunedin Chamber inducted him into their Hall of Fame.
