

He was born on June 26, 1944 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to August and Emma (Dumlar) Leonhardt. Jim was a retired U. S. Navy Lieutenant. James’s proud lifelong achievements included spending 21 years in the Navy were he retired as a Navy Lieutenant. Following Naval service he went on to graduate with a Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin, then James went on to spend 25 years in the U.S. postal service as well as 30 years as a Florida Real estate broker. He moved to Florida in 1973 and enjoyed fishing, hiking, jogging, and was a Green Bay Packers fan and shareholder.
Jim is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Leonhardt (Tom Martin) of Tampa, Florida, and Cheri Vislay (Mark Vislay) of Kodiak, Alaska; two grandchildren, Colin and Emma Vislay; his brother, Robert Leonhardt; his sister, Donna Tadych; and his wife, Judy Brophy Leonhardt (amicably separated). He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ed Leonhardt.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with a service at 10:30 am Saturday, May 17th at Moss-Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Rd., Clearwater, Fl 33764.
