Janice B. Coonce – 63, went home to be with her parents on Friday, August 12, 2016. Her larger than life attitude, love for her friends, family and animals will never be forgotten. Janice was born February 28, 1953 in Detroit Michigan to the late John and Stella Suszkiewicz. She is one of four children and is survived by sisters, Karen, Carol and brother Bob. It is no secret that Janice was destined for an adventurous life and she dreamed of it often in her childhood years. Even at an early age, Janice always strived for the American dream, have a family, contribute to others and certainly enjoy life to its fullest. Jan started her adventurous journey when she met her husband Ken in 1972 while working together at Burger King in Dearborn, Michigan. After her very first vacation in Florida to visit Ken’s family in November 1972, Ken proposed the following Valentine’s Day and they married on June 30, 1973. Jan and Ken quickly started a family and had a son Jason and two daughters, Jennifer and Jayme. Jan and Ken relocated many times and her journey took her through many states including Michigan, Florida, Indiana and California. They retired in Palm Harbor, Florida in 2006. Jan had many passions, but antiquing, cooking, painting and most of all the love for her family was most evident. She spent countless hours looking for new recipes and cooking with her girls and grandchildren. When she was not cooking, you could find her sitting at the table with a paint brush in hand or watching Lifetime movies with Jayme. She also loved trips to the casino. Painting had become her favorite hobby. She truly enjoyed painting portraits of her children, grandchildren and her pets. She also loved to do paintings just to put a smile on someone’s face. Her creative ability gave inspiration to everyone that knew her and even some that did not. Jan also had a true love for animals, pets and wildlife alike. She spent time caring for and loving as many as she could. Jan spent her life as we all should, showing her kindness and generosity to so many people. She never let her disabilities limit her. She was a friend to everyone she met. She was loved, respected and an inspiration. She will be greatly missed but will live forever in our hearts. Janice is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Kenneth Coonce; their children, Jason, Jennifer and Jayme Coonce and her step-daughter Kim Ray; her grandchildren, Devon, Taylor, Hailey and Linkin Coonce; her sisters, Karen and Carol; her brother, Bob. She is preceded in death by her loving parents John and Stella. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Myositis Association in honor of Janice B. Coonce.
