

Jay was born in Clearwater, Fl. A graduate of the Largo High class of 1987, where he played football.
He was a graduate of St. Petersburg College, attended University of Central Florida, and Florida State University as a Criminology major. Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity alumnae. In addition to being an entrepreneur, Jay worked in a variety of I.T. careers at Home Shopping Network, Tech Data, Fibrenew, and Avaya. He was currently working at Marathon Billboards.
Jay was a lifelong science fiction fan, passionate about football, camping, outdoors, 1980's music, and volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America with his sons Cooper and Donovan. In the scouts, he was a cub scout den leader, assistant scout leader, and member of the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council.
Jay will be remembered most for his youthful approach to life. As a child he was sweet, joyful, energetic, and kind, which he continued into adulthood (and sometimes a prankster too). The world was a better place with him in it.
Jay is survived by his two sons, Cooper and Donovan Collman; his parents, Joy and Jerald Collman; and his sister, Jill Collman (Mark).
There will be a private graveside service and reception for family.
A Public Celebration of Life, "Jay-Style" will take place Saturday, October 3rd at the Clearwater Historical Society. Exact time and RSVP information to be announced later.
