Jean Neuhardt, age 84, of Tarpon Springs Florida, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2019
at Suncoast Hospice North Pinellas Care Center.
Celebration of Her Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Unity of Palm Harbor,
1960 Tampa Road, Palm Harbor, FL 34689, with The Reverend Robert Fortner officiating.
Jean is survived by her daughter Debra Neuhardt-Shone (Thomas Walsh), Grandchildren Andrew (Jenny)
Shone, Christopher (Stephanie) Shone, Shaina Jean Neuhardt and her beloved great grandchildren
Christopher, Drew, Nicholas, Chloe and Dexter.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard R. and Edla E. Lappi, sister Adeline Hokkanen,
brother Robert and son Scott Steven Neuhardt. Also Charles Neuhardt and Edward Reynolds.
Jean was born on her family farm in French Lake Township on August 27, 1934. Jean Graduated from
Annandale High School in 1952, and moved to “The Big City” of Minneapolis, MN where she began her
working career with the “State Employment Services”, involving typing and “taking shorthand”.
During this time in her life, she was introduced to Charles Edward Neuhardt, son of The Reverend Emil
and Wilhelmina Neuhardt. They married on December 3rd, 1955. 9 ½ months later, their family was
started with the birth of daughter Debra Lynn. Their family increased in size once again with the
birth of Scott on March 1, 1964.
Jean changed jobs, in 1957, working as a pool secretary for the Edsel division of Ford Motor Company.
Her career with Ford Motor Company, the “Mercury Division” brought her many accomplishments and
challenges. She transferred from Minneapolis to Chicago, and finally on the 31st of August, 1989 she
retired from the Detroit office of Marketing and Communications. Jean was one of the first females in
management for Lincoln Mercury.
During her time in Michigan, she met and married Edward Reynolds, a retired postal worker, and
together they traveled with their grandsons, camping everywhere they went from Canada to Georgia,
maintaining their home base in Palm Harbor, Florida.
With the addition of Granddaughter Shaina Jean, Jean and Ed felt blessed being able to raise and
Travel with their Granddaughter. Jean was there when Shaina graduated High School and was able to
spend much cherished time with Great Grandchildren.
Jean loved her family, was blessed with many friends, and she will be missed by all.
