Jenny was born on January 14, 1936, in Kastoria, Greece, to the late Thomai and Isidore Sideris. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Nicholas “Nick” Fillios, at Holy Trinity Saint Nicholas Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, hard work, and cherished memories.
Jenny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known for her strong work ethic, creativity, and generous spirit. She took great pride in caring for her home and garden. Jenny had a wonderful talent for sewing and creating beautiful things with her hands. She was a self-taught quilter and continually created beautiful quilts for her family. Her creativity and love for her family were especially evident when she lovingly sewed her daughter’s wedding dress, a treasured memory that will remain with her family forever. Everyone always cherished family get-togethers and the holidays when Yiayia Jenny would make her big spanakopita.
Jenny leaves behind her two beloved daughters, Theodora (Kosta) Solomos and Evelyn (Philip) Stalas; five grandchildren, Eleni Solomos (Dr. John Dougherty), Dr. Andreas Solomos (Maria), Dr. Marina Solomos (Dr. Alex Confer), Dr. Theodore Stalas (Dr. Sindi Begaj), and Dr. Jenny Stalas; and three great-grandchildren, Valentina, Evangelos, and Emmanuel Dougherty.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Nicholas “Nick” Fillios.
Jenny’s legacy will live on through her family, who will forever remember her as a loving and devoted wife and mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a strong, creative, hardworking woman whose hands and heart were always busy caring for the people and things she loved.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 409 S. Old Coachman Road, Clearwater, Florida 33765.
Jenny will be laid to rest beside Nick at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759.
