MILLER, Jimmie Thomas, 101, of Clearwater, FL., passed away March 15, 2018 at his home of natural causes surrounded by his family. Mr. Miller was born May 27, 1916 to the late Jim and Emma (Cooper) Miller in Louisville, Mississippi. Mr. Miller was the middle child of seven children. He loved sharing stories of his life with family and friends. He also loved to cook. He would fry fish, make snow cones, sweet potato pies and homemade ice cream.
Mr. Miller moved to Clearwater in 1960, and was employed by the city of Clearwater until he retired in 1982. He loved his family and friends. Along his journey in life he made sure to visit any and every one he could no matter what the situation was. Deacon Miller was also a member of St. John Primitive Baptist Church. He loved his church and the members. He served as a Deacon for many years. Deacon Miller absolutely loved singing hymns and once he started singing no one could stop him.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his wife Lillie Pearl Miller and wife Effie D. Miller, who's union produced nine children; Sons, Jimmie Miller Jr., Willie James Steele, Lee William Miller; Granddaughter Wanda Miller, and Brothers and sisters; Vertie (Gene) Rembert, Cora (Jesse) Jordan, Booker T. (Alena) Miller, Dave (Eddie Mae) Miller, Martha Emma Miller, and Sam (Annie) Miller.
Mr. Miller is survived by his sons, Walter Lee Miller, Eddie Joe (Rosemary) Miller, George Ray (Nadra) Miller; daughters, Vadie (Fletcher) Armour, Dorothy Miller, Izella (Marlon) Mitchell, Joann (Charles) Baity, Sandra (Dennis) Brown, Olivia (Robert) Goss; Step sons, Floyd Tripplet, and Charlie Tripplet; and six generations of Grandchildren.
Elder Benjamin Adams Jr. will officiate services Saturday March 24, 2017 at 11am in St John Primitive Baptist Church 1002 Palmetto St. in Clearwater. Visitation will begin at 10am until time of service at the church. The pallbearers will be Eric Hannah, Alex Hannah, Leon Brown, Frank Smith, Rodney Hannah, and David Goss. A Repast will be held following the service in Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center 1201 Douglas Ave in Clearwater.
