To have known Joan was to have experience true, unconditional love.  Joan loved with her soul, her smile was as warm and bright as the sunshine and her resilience was unmeasurable.  She was my dearest and closest friend, my sister in Christ.  I am forever greatful to God for having placed her in my life.  I will miss her each and every day.  I know that we have one more angel watching over us.  I am positive that all heaven is rejoicing, celebrating Joan's homecoming.  Until we meet again .... I Love You My Freind .... Later

It seems like I've know Joan my whole life. Even before she married Gus she was one of the family and very close to our mother. I cannot remember a bad time around Joan. She was always sweet and giving. Over the past 20 years her faith has been an inspiration to me as well as many others. I know brother Gus is missing her tremendously as are Kim and Anthony and the grandkids. I take great pleasure in knowing we'll see her again in glory. Much love, prayers and thanks to all who knew and miss her!

Gus, we were blessed the day you and Joan walked through the church door. We had so much fun together with the youth of the church and just enjoying a good time together. Most of all the strength and tenacity Joan spread to all of us (young and not so young) alike. She was not one to give up and her smile never ends. We will love and remember Joan until we get to play together again in heaven.

I didn't know Joan that well, but what little I saw of her in Sunday School and Church gatherings, she impressed me as a loving Christian Woman.  I regret not stepping out and making the first move to be a friend to her. She definitely stayed the course in trusting God in her health issues, I don't think I can be that strong as she was.  She always had a smile on her face and fun to be around.  Her love for Gus was genuine, true and from The Lord.  Rest in Peace Joan, look down on us once in awhile, especially your loving Gus, who misses you terribly. Your kind spirit will dwell amongst us for a very long time, if not forever.  See you in heaven someday soon.

Gus & family,
So sorry for your loss. Gus you were the type of husbsnd every woman deserves. Joan was blessed to be surrounded by the love she received by you & your family. Could tell by your post you were soul mates & best friends. Seems now days no one takes marriages seriously. They leave when the going gets tough forgeting marriage vows made in front of God in sickness & in health. Doesn't seem fair all of  you lost her  at such a young age when others take spouses, & family for granted. As much as her passing hurts you have faith God knows what's best & when it's time to call us home. Our loved ones who have passed are at peace no more pain or sorrow. We miss them but they are still beside us in spirit  waiting till we're reunited again. Thoughts & prayers are with you,children,grandchildren & family. God bless.
