Joan Christine Oras

Born on May 4, 1942, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Cecil and Isabelle Clark, she was the eldest of nine children and embraced that role with strength and compassion throughout her life. She shared her birthday with her grandfather, her sister Chris, and her brother Wayne, a family connection she always treasured.

On December 1, 1962, she married Ronald Oras, the love of her life and devoted partner for nearly 56 years. Together, they built a life grounded in commitment, hard work, and an unwavering love for family. Their remarkable journey continued until his passing on September 2, 2018.

The couple began building their family in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, where they raised five children and became deeply involved in their community. In 1982, they relocated to Florida and eventually made Tarpon Springs their home. There, she found immense joy in watching her family grow and became a loving and devoted grandmother.

She is survived by her children, David, Michael, Steven, Justine, and Greg; her grandchildren, Arron, Brent, Aubrey, Zac, Trey, Conner, Ryan, and Shyler; her great-granddaughter, Rani; her siblings, Carol, Melvin, Burt, Eileen, Chris, and Lori; and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; her parents; her siblings, Wayne and Brenda; and her granddaughter, Jessica.

Known for her strong work ethic and generous spirit, she touched countless lives through both her professional and personal endeavors. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, creating cherished memories and lasting experiences for the members of pack 21. Alongside her husband, she was co-proprietor of the Cedar Grove Market, affectionately remembered as “The Little Store That Saved You More.” Her career also included positions with Raymond James and Associates and Quick & Reilly on Wall Street in New York City.

Above all, she will be remembered for the love she shared so freely, the guidance she provided to those around her, and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her kindness, resilience, and unwavering commitment to family were the hallmarks of a life beautifully lived.

Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy endures through the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, family members, and friends. The values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love she gave without measure will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
