John Dellaratta was born in 1934 in New York, New York. After graduating high school, John served in the U.S. Army as an Aircraft Mechanic, earning the rank of Private First Class and trained other personnel in helicopter and aircraft repair. At the age of 24, John married Irene Mrozinski in 1958. John and Irene welcomed their only child, Mark, into the Della Ratta family in 1960.
John was passionate about aviation and worked as an Aircraft Mechanic in New York for 31 years for Lockheed, Northeast and Delta Airlines. John and Irene moved to Oakdale in 1962. John retired in 1991 and moved to New Port Richey, Florida in 1993.
John loved watching baseball, fishing, growing vegetables in his small garden, doing anything that required repair and maintenance and spending time with his family and friends.
