John C. Tsacrios, age 73, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021. John was born February 17, 1948 in Clearwater, Florida to Lenora (Brown) and James Tsacrios, who precede him in death.
John is survived by a sister; Jamie (Joe) Biondi, nieces; Sevasti (Will) Biondi Reed and Alexis Biondi, a step - niece; Heather (Andy) Griffith and many cousins, cherished friends.
John achieved his bachelors from University of South Florida and a masters from University of Florida. He was dedicated to his career as a teacher. He taught at Seminole High School and Clearwater High School. He was a diving coach and assistant swim coach at Clearwater High School from 1971-1982. He was advisor for Clearwater High School Key Club from 1979-83, Chairman of Diamond Jubilee 75th anniversary. John also worked in realty and served on the Dunedin Board of Realtors.
He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He was very devoted to his church, youth organizations, and coaching. John was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and was a founder of the youth group (GOYA). He received the medal of St. Paul in 1972.
John was an active member of his community and belonged to the Clearwater Jaycees and Clearwater Beach Jaycees. He was active with Outstanding Young Men of America, he served on the board of Student Loan Fund Board of Directors, Howard Freeze Chapter - International Order of Demolay and he was a 32 degree member of Clearwater Masonic Lodge #127 and was a Scottish Rite.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. A scholarship in John's name is pending by his family.
There will be a funeral service held for John on Wednesday, May 26 at 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (409 S Old Coachman Rd, Clearwater, FL 33765) with a Committal service to follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. The family and friends will have fellowship at the church after the graveside committal. All are invited to share in fond and funny memories and partake in a light lunch at the church fellowship hall.
